This neighbourhood is quiet overall, as the streets tend to be tranquil - although that is not the case around Trans-Canada Highway. Finally, it is very easy to access green spaces since there are approximately 10 of them close by for residents to visit.


Driving is an excellent means of transportation in Cape Horn. The majority of real estate listings are a reasonably short drive from the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, and it is very easy to come across a parking spot. However, the public transit network in Cape Horn is rather limited. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and it is very easy to find a nearby bus stop from most residences. The bike is a somewhat poor method of transportation in Cape Horn because cyclists encounter a significant amount of elevation changes. Thankfully, this part of Coquitlam is home to a fairly good cycling infrastructure. A majority of the houses for sale in this part of the city are located in places that are also not very conducive to those who travel by foot because very few daily errands can be run without the use of a vehicle.


Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing the majority of buildings in Cape Horn, while duplexes and townhouses make up most of the remaining housing stock. This part of the city offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. About 80% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 20% are renters. Around 45% of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s.


Some house buyers in this part of Coquitlam may be able to travel to the closest grocery store on foot, while others will have to turn to a vehicle. Residents are served by approximately 20 restaurants and coffee shops as well. With respect to education, schools and daycares are easy to walk to from most properties for sale in Cape Horn.
