Capilano is a very good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm atmosphere. This area is very quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour closer to Trans-Canada Highway. Lastly, there are about 40 public green spaces nearby for residents to discover, including Klahanie Park and William Griffin Park, and they are very well-spread out, making them very easy to access.
Transportation
It is convenient for pedestrians to navigate Capilano; many daily errands can be run without a vehicle, and there are also a fair number of businesses in proximity. Biking is also easy in Capilano. The transit in this neighbourhood is rather poor. Nonetheless, homeowners have access to approximately 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most houses. On the other hand, the favoured approach to navigate this area is very often driving. Many homes for sale are a short car ride from the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, and it is very convenient to come across a parking spot.
Housing
Roughly 85% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 15% are occupied by renters. In this part of District of North Vancouver, around 55% of dwellings are single detached homes, and the rest are mainly small apartment buildings and duplexes. About one third of properties in this area were constructed pre-1960, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 2000s. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.

It is generally practical for home buyers in Capilano to do grocery shopping by walking. Likewise, this part of the municipality is a good place in which to go out to eat or go to a cafe. When it comes to education, families will find that wherever their home is situated in Capilano, primary schools and daycares are close by. In contrast, it can be very hard to get to high schools by foot.
