Transportation
Catalone is an extremely convenient part of Cape Breton Municipality for driving. Parking is quite easy. Many of the houses for sale in this part of the municipality are located in places that are not very conducive to pedestrians because running common errands is very impractical without a vehicle. Biking is also difficult in Catalone as the bicycling network is not very extensive, and there are a good number of hills for cyclists to brave.
Housing
The predominant housing types in Catalone are single detached homes and townhouses. About 45% of properties in this part of the municipality were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This community offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Nearly 90% of the dwellings in the community are occupied by homeowners and the remainder are rented.
Services
There are no high schools and no primary schools in Catalone. Likewise, daycares are not plentiful and accordingly not always within a short distance. In terms of eating, in all but a very small number of cases, a car is required to shop for groceries.
