Caulfeild real estate guide & listings for sale

Caulfeild is a fairly good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm ambience. There are about 30 parks close by for residents to enjoy and they are very well-distributed, making them easy to access. This part of the municipality is also reasonably quiet, as the streets are usually tranquil - although there are still several louder areas, especially closer to the railway line or Trans-Canada Highway.


Caulfeild is an extremely convenient part of West Vancouver for travelling by car. Many properties for sale are a reasonably short drive from the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, and accessing a place to park is generally easy. However, public transit riders may find few options in Caulfeild as a result of the low service level. Nonetheless, residents are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are commonly nearby. It is very difficult to get around by bike in this neighbourhood as bicycling is rendered strenuous by the often hilly terrain, and the cycling infrastructure is quite bad. This neighbourhood is also not very suitable for those who travel by foot because almost no daily errands can be run without having to resort to a car.


Nearly 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 10% are renters. The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of this part of West Vancouver is an important part of its character. Around one third of properties in this area were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. There is a higher proportion of four or more bedroom homes in this neighbourhood.


Reaching the closest grocery store by walking is feasible for some, but not all, property owners in Caulfeild. A limited number of restaurants and coffee shops are available as well. Concerning education, it is a reasonably short walk to access primary schools from most properties for sale in this part of West Vancouver. On the other hand, families may consider it challenging for their kids to get to high schools on foot.
