Centennial is a reasonably good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed atmosphere. This area is quiet overall, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case closer to the airport (Oshawa Airport). Lastly, public green spaces, like Attersley Park and Cedar Valley Park, are very well-spread out and there are over 50 of them close by for residents to unwind in, making them very easy to access.

Transportation

Most homes for sale in this part of the city are located in places that are rather conducive to pedestrians; running daily errands is convenient without a car. The bike is a reasonably good means of transportation in Centennial. The favoured way to navigate this area is often driving. It is easy to park. However, getting around by transit can be difficult in Centennial by reason of the service's low frequency. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is linked by approximately 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most houses.

Housing

In Centennial, roughly one third of buildings are single detached homes, whereas the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings. This neighbourhood also has a good selection of unit sizes - it is quite easy to find houses ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. The population residing in this area is evenly split between renters and owners. Most housing in this neighbourhood was built in the 1960s and 1970s, during its biggest building boom.

The nearest grocery store in this part of Oshawa is generally only a rather short distance away. Furthermore, there are a good number of options for those who value nearby restaurants and cafes. With regards to education, primary schools and daycares are very easy to reach without needing a vehicle from any location in this area. However, it can be difficult to get to high schools from properties for sale in Centennial.
