    Transportation

    Central Greendale is especially car friendly. It is very easy to park. In contrast, this part of the city is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and it is especially convenient to find a nearby bus stop from most homes. The bicycle is a somewhat poor method of transportation in this neighbourhood as the cycling infrastructure is quite bad. Nevertheless, the terrain is moderately flat, and a fair number of people decide to move around by bike. A majority of the homes for sale in this part of Chilliwack are located in places that are also not very suitable for those who prefer to travel as pedestrians because almost no day-to-day needs can be carried out without the use of a car.

    The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of Central Greendale is an important part of its character. Around one third of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This area is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Around 80% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and renters make up the remainder.

    Doing one's groceries usually demands the use of a vehicle in this neighbourhood. Regarding education, primary schools and daycares are straightforward to get to as a pedestrian from anywhere in Central Greendale. In contrast, this area does not have any high schools.
