This part of Calgary is very quiet overall, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic.
Transportation
Chaparral is an extraordinarily good part of Calgary for getting around by car. It is easy to come across a parking spot, and nearby highways are very easy to drive to from anywhere in this neighbourhood. However, the public transit service in this area is fairly poor. Nevertheless, homeowners are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most homes. A majority of the homes for sale in this neighbourhood are located in places that are not very suitable for people who like to get around by walking as very few daily needs can be carried out without a vehicle. On the other hand, this part of the city is conducive to biking because the bicycling infrastructure is reasonably good, and riding is made easier by the generally flat terrain.
Housing
In Chaparral, around 80% of buildings are single detached homes, and the remaining properties are mainly townhouses. This part of the city is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy nearly 90% of the units in Chaparral while the rest are rented. The homes in this neighbourhood are very modern, because about two thirds of its dwellings were built after the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1990s.
Services
A grocery store is ordinarily reachable within a reasonably short trip from anywhere in Chaparral. Residents benefit from about 10 restaurants and coffee shops as well. In terms of education, parents and their children will appreciate that wherever their property is located in Chaparral, daycares and primary schools are close by. However, there are no high schools in this neighbourhood.
