City of North Vancouver is a fairly good city to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm ambience. This city is good for those who enjoy a quiet atmosphere, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic - although there are still several noisier sections, especially around Trans-Canada Highway or the railway line. Finally, public green spaces are very easy to get to since there are over 100 of them nearby for residents to unwind in.


Walking is quite feasible for residents in City of North Vancouver; many daily errands can be run on foot. On the other hand, biking is at times difficult in this city since there is a considerable amount of elevation changes. Thankfully, there are a good number of bike lanes, and some pleasant sectors for cycling can be found. Commuting by public transit is sometimes difficult in this city. Thankfully, the city is connected by about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most residences. However, the preferred method of transportation in this city is usually driving. It is a short drive to the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, from anywhere in this city, and it is convenient to park.


In City of North Vancouver, roughly one third of buildings are single detached homes, but large apartment buildings, small apartment buildings, and duplexes are also present in the housing stock. This city also has a good selection of unit sizes; it is quite easy to find properties ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Roughly two thirds of the population of this city own their home whereas the remainder are renters. Around one third of properties in this part of the Greater Vancouver metropolitan area were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s.


A general and a specialty grocery store is always only a rather short walk away in City of North Vancouver. Lonsdale Avenue is among the best streets for groceries. Moreover, City of North Vancouver is a good place in which to eat out, and house buyers can enjoy approximately 40 cafes as well. House buyers benefit from a fair number of nearby clothing stores. With respect to education, it is a reasonably short walk to get to schools and daycares from most properties for sale in this city. Along with public schools, there are private primary and secondary schools.
