Public green spaces are especially well-distributed and there are a few of them nearby for residents to discover, which makes it easy to get to them. This part of Markham remains relatively quiet, as there are few pedestrians; however noise levels are higher closer to Highway 404 or Highway 407.

Transportation

The preferred method of transportation in Commerce Valley is very often driving. Most of the street network is built for driving, and it is especially convenient to park. On the other hand, the public transit service in this part of Markham is sometimes poor. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is connected by about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are ordinarily nearby. Cycling is difficult in this neighbourhood since riding is rendered strenuous by the typically hilly area, and the bicycling infrastructure is quite poor. Walking in Commerce Valley is also not very common, despite the fact that many day-to-day needs can be carried out on foot.

Housing

Commerce Valley experienced its biggest construction boom following the year 2000, so most of the available housing is from this era. Large apartment buildings are the most common housing type, representing many dwellings in this neighbourhood, and the remaining properties are mainly townhouses. Homeowners occupy about three quarters of the properties in Commerce Valley while the rest are rented. This area offers mainly two bedroom and one bedroom homes.

Services

A grocery store is usually reachable within a rather short walk from anywhere in this area. In addition, there are a good number of options in close proximity for those who appreciate restaurants and cafes. It is also easy to access a selection of clothing stores on foot. When it comes to education, both primary and secondary schools are convenient to reach on foot from most homes for sale in this neighbourhood. In contrast, there are only a few daycares and accordingly they can be a long walk away.
