Transportation

Cars are an excellent means of transportation in Dauphin. It is a very short drive to the nearest highway from any home in this rural municipality, and it is especially convenient to access a parking spot. Although riding a bike is better in certain pockets than others, and there are a limited number of elevation changes to challenge cyclists, Dauphin is not especially suited for biking because the cycling infrastructure is not very extensive. It is also difficult for people walking to navigate Dauphin since running common errands is inconvenient without the use of a car.

Housing

Roughly one third of homes in Dauphin were built between 1960 and 1980, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. Single detached homes and townhouses are the main housing type in this part of Division No. 17. Roughly 95% of the population of this rural municipality own their home whereas the rest are renters. Services

In all cases, a car is required to shop for groceries. In terms of education, there are only a few high schools in Dauphin and accordingly they can be a long trip away. Additionally, Dauphin does not contain any primary schools. Moreover, parents may consider it very hard for their kids to reach daycares as pedestrians.
