Home buyers who prefer a relaxed environment will enjoy Decoteau. Decoteau is very quiet, as the streets are usually very peaceful. It is sometimes difficult to get to public green spaces since they aren't well-spread out. Still, there are a few parks close by for residents to unwind in.

Transportation

This neighbourhood is particularly car friendly. Coming across a parking spot is quite easy. A majority of the houses for sale in this part of the city are located in areas that are not very suitable for people who prefer to get around as pedestrians since almost no common errands can be run without the need to use a car. This neighbourhood is also not very bike-friendly because the topography is not especially flat, and the bicycling network is quite bad.

Housing

The large percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of Decoteau is an important part of its character. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about two thirds of the properties in Decoteau and one third are rented. Most of the housing growth in this neighbourhood occurred in the 1960s and 1970s.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in Decoteau. In addition, there are only a few daycares and consequently they can be a long trip away. With regards to eating, in all but a few cases, a car is needed in Decoteau to access the closest supermarket.
