This part of the Greater Vancouver metropolitan area is also very quiet, as the streets tend to be very calm.


Driving is an excellent transportation option in District of North Vancouver. It is straightforward to park, and it is a rather short car ride to the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, from any location in this municipality. On the other hand, getting around by transit can be challenging in this municipality as a result of the low service level. Nonetheless, there are around 20 bus lines crossing the municipality, and most properties are very close to a bus stop. Walking is not very practical for home buyers in District of North Vancouver as very few daily errands can be run without the use of a car. Cycling is also challenging in this municipality as the cycling infrastructure is not very comprehensive, and there is a considerable amount of slopes.


Single detached homes are the main housing type, representing about one third of dwellings in District of North Vancouver, and the rest of the houses are mainly large apartment buildings, small apartment buildings, and duplexes. This municipality has a good variety of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About two thirds of the population of this municipality own their home while the rest are renters. Roughly one third of homes in this part of the Greater Vancouver metropolitan area were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s.


Daycares and primary schools are convenient to access on foot from most houses for sale in District of North Vancouver. In contrast, families may consider it difficult for their children to get to high schools as a pedestrian. In addition to public schools, there are private primary and secondary schools. Concerning eating, it is convenient to get to the nearest grocery store on foot in District of North Vancouver. A limited number of restaurants and cafes are available as well.
