    People who want to live in a community that's walkable will welcome the very pedestrian-friendly nature of Downtown St. John's; meeting daily needs is convenient without a vehicle, and there are also a good number of businesses in proximity. In contrast, it is occasionally difficult to travel by bicycle in this neighbourhood since there is a considerable amount of elevation changes, and the bicycling network is sometimes poor. Cars are a reasonably good medium of transportation in this part of St. John's. It is convenient to access a parking spot, and most properties for sale are a very short drive from the nearest highway. However, public transit users may experience limited choices in this part of the city as a result of the service's low frequency. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most properties.
