Dunluce is a wonderful neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm environment. This area is very quiet overall, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic. Finally, public green spaces, such as Herb Link Park and Cumberland Park, are very well-distributed and there are approximately 30 of them close by for residents to visit, which makes it easy to access them.

Transportation

Cars are a very good transportation option in this part of the city. Nearby highways are easy to reach from any home in this neighbourhood, and finding a parking spot is generally easy. In contrast, Dunluce is not particularly transit friendly. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is served by about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most houses. This part of the city is reasonably cycling-friendly since cyclists do not face serious hills, and the bicycling infrastructure is good. Many of the homes for sale in this neighbourhood are located in places that are not particularly conducive to those who like to travel on foot since few daily errands can be run without the need for a vehicle.

Housing

In Dunluce, the majority of buildings are single detached homes, and the rest of the houses are mainly small apartment buildings. A majority of the housing growth in this neighbourhood happened in the 1960s and 1970s. This part of Edmonton is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about two thirds of the units in Dunluce and the rest are rented.

Services

Daycares and primary schools are very easy to reach on foot from most homes for sale in this part of Edmonton. However, parents may consider it challenging for their children to reach high schools as pedestrians. With regards to food, the closest supermarket in this part of Edmonton is generally only a rather short walk away. Likewise, a restaurant is often just around the corner, for example on Castle Downs Road North-west, and house buyers are served by a few cafes as well. It is also a reasonably short trip to a decent selection of clothing stores.
