Transportation

Cars are an excellent transportation option in East Gwillimbury. Parking is quite easy. On the other hand, this town is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, residents can count on the East Gwillimbury Station with access to the Barrie Line. The town is connected by about 10 bus lines. It is challenging to move around by bicycle in East Gwillimbury because cyclists are faced with a considerable amount of hills, and the bicycling network is rather limited. Walking is also not very practical for home buyers in East Gwillimbury as carrying out daily needs is very impractical on foot.

Housing

The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of East Gwillimbury is an important part of its character. Around one quarter of properties in this part of the Greater Toronto metropolitan area were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
