Employment is relatively serene, as there are very few pedestrians. It is occasionally difficult to reach public green spaces within the neighbourhood since they aren't well-located. Still, there are a few parks close by for residents to visit.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent transportation option in this area. The majority of properties for sale are a short drive from the closest highway, such as Queen Elizabeth Way, and it is especially convenient to park. In contrast, residents using public transit may experience limited choices in Employment as a result of the low service level. Thankfully, residents are served by the Appleby Station with access to the Lakeshore West Line. There are about 20 bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far away from most houses. Walking is not very convenient for property owners in Employment as few common errands can be run on foot. Even though a few bike-friendly sectors exist, the bicycle is a rather poor mode of transportation in this area because the cycling network is not very well-developed, and riding is made arduous by the typically sloping area.

Housing

Around 40% of dwellings are townhouses, making it easy to find townhouses in Employment, and the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings, small apartment buildings, and single detached homes. Roughly 45% of homes in this part of the city were built after the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1990s. This neighbourhood also has a good selection of unit sizes; it is quite easy to find houses ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Around 80% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 20% are renters.

Services

There are only a few high schools and primary schools in Employment and accordingly they can be a rather long walk away. Moreover, it can be difficult to reach daycares as a pedestrian. With respect to food, the nearest grocery store in this part of the city is typically only a reasonably short walk away. Furthermore, those who like to eat in restaurants will have a fair number of options, and there are also approximately 10 cafes in this area.
