Fall River is an excellent community to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed ambience. This part of Halifax is very quiet overall, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic. Lastly, there are around 40 parks nearby for residents to check out, including McDonald Sports Park and Trevor Avenue Park, which results in them being easy to get to from a lot of locations within the community.
Transportation
Cars are an excellent mode of transportation in Fall River. It is very easy to park. It is very difficult for people travelling by foot to move around in this part of Halifax as many daily needs are impractical to carry out without a car. Biking is also challenging in this community because the cycling network is not very comprehensive, and riding is made arduous by the often hilly area.
Housing
Around 90% of the population of this community own their home and 10% are renters. The housing stock of this area is composed primarily of single detached homes and row houses. About one third of properties in this area were built after the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. This community offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
Services
There are only a very small number of high schools in Fall River and consequently they can be a very long trip away. In addition, this part of the municipality does not have any primary schools. Additionally, families may consider it very difficult for their kids to access daycares without the need to get in a car. As far as eating is concerned, in the majority of cases, a vehicle is required to buy groceries. There are also approximately 10 restaurants in Fall River.
