Garson is a very good community to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. This area is very quiet, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Lastly, green spaces, including Lorne Brady Park, are very well-spread out and there are about 10 of them nearby for residents to unwind in, making it easy to access them.

Transportation

Garson is very car friendly. It is very easy to come across a place to park. However, commuting by public transit is challenging in Garson. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines traversing the community, and the closest bus stop is generally around the corner. Cycling is difficult in Garson because the terrain is not especially flat, and there are few bike lanes. It is also challenging for pedestrians to navigate this area because very few daily errands can be run without a vehicle.

Housing

The large percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of Garson is an important part of its character. This part of Greater Sudbury offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 80% of the units in Garson whereas the remainder are rented. Roughly 30% of homes in this area were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s.

Services

It is a reasonably short trip to access daycares and primary schools from most houses for sale in this area. In contrast, there are no high schools in this part of Greater Sudbury. With respect to eating, it is convenient to access the nearest grocery store without needing a car in this community. Residents are served by a few restaurants and coffee shops as well.
