Gordon Head is an excellent neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm ambience. There are over 50 green spaces nearby for residents to discover, including Henderson Recreation Centre and Braefoot Park, and they are very well-located, making them easy to reach. This area is also very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour.

Transportation

Gordon Head is fairly car friendly. It is convenient to come across a parking spot. In contrast, Gordon Head is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is connected by around 10 bus lines, and it is very easy to reach a nearby bus stop from most homes. This part of Saanich will appeal to physically active people because it is suited for biking. More specifically, the cycling network is reasonably good. It is at times difficult for pedestrians to move around in Gordon Head as most daily needs are sometimes challenging to carry out without a vehicle.

Housing

About 70% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and the remainder are rented. In this area, many dwellings are single detached homes, and the remainder are mainly duplexes. This neighbourhood experienced its most significant building boom in the 1960s and 1970s, so most of the available properties are from this era. This area offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.

Families will appreciate that no matter where their property is located in Gordon Head, schools and daycares are close by. In terms of food, the closest supermarket in this area is typically only a rather long walk away. In addition, this area is a fairly good place in which to eat out, and there are also a few coffee shops in Gordon Head.
