Greendale is especially quiet overall, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue near the railway line.     Transportation

    Cars are a very good medium of transportation in Greendale. It is very easy to park. However, the public transit service in Greendale is not very frequent. Nevertheless, the community is connected by a few bus lines, and it is straightforward to reach a nearby bus stop from most homes. The bike is a reasonably good method of transportation in Greendale. This part of Chilliwack is not very well-suited for pedestrians since meeting daily needs is impractical without a vehicle.

    Housing

    In Greendale, the vast majority of buildings are single detached homes, whereas the rest are mainly duplexes. The buildings in this community are relatively new, because roughly one third of its dwellings were constructed following the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1960s. This part of the city is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Roughly 80% of the units in the community are occupied by homeowners and 20% are rented.

    Families will value that no matter where their home is situated in this community, daycares and primary schools are nearby. However, high schools are not plentiful and thus tend to require a very long trip to get to. In terms of food, in the majority of cases, a vehicle is needed in Greendale to access the nearest supermarket. A limited number of restaurants and cafes can be found as well.
