Lastly, there is a very large amount of greenery in this area; public green spaces, like Beare Hill Park, are very well-distributed and there are a few of them close by for residents to visit, resulting in them being very easy to get to from most locations in this part of the city. Furthermore, residents will find that numerous streets have great tree coverage.

Transportation

Driving is a great mode of transportation in Hillside. It is especially convenient to park. However, commuting by transit can be challenging in this part of the city by reason of the infrequent service. Thankfully, property owners benefit from a few bus lines, and most residences are near a bus stop. This area is not very convenient for pedestrians because common amenities such as hardware stores or barbers can be an extended stroll away. However, this neighbourhood is bicycling-friendly.

Housing

Roughly 80% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 20% are occupied by renters. In this neighbourhood, about 20% of dwellings are single detached homes, while duplexes make up most of the remaining housing stock. A majority of the housing growth in this part of Toronto occurred in the 1990s. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes.

Services

It is rarely practical for home buyers in this area to travel to the closest supermarket as pedestrians. Residents can enjoy a few restaurants and cafes as well. With respect to education, it is a reasonably short distance to access primary schools from most properties for sale in this area. In contrast, families may consider it very difficult to reach high schools as pedestrians.
