Historic Downtown is a "jack-of-all-trades" when it comes to the feel of this part of the city. Historic Downtown is reasonably good for those who enjoy quiet areas, as the streets tend to be quite tranquil, however noise can be problematic around one of the railway lines. On the other hand, public green spaces, such as Lonzo Creek Park and Ravine Park, are especially well-spread out and there are over 50 of them nearby for residents to unwind in, which makes them easy to access. Finally, although this area is not known for its lively ambience, with its a few nightlife venues, there are options for nighttime activities.

Transportation

Historic Downtown is reasonably suitable for those who like to get around as pedestrians; running day-to-day errands is easy without needing a vehicle, and there are also a good number of businesses nearby. This neighbourhood is also conducive to bicycling. Commuting by car is straightforward in this part of the city. It is easy to access a place to park, and the majority of houses for sale are a reasonably short drive from the closest highway. In contrast, the public transit system in Historic Downtown is rather poor. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is connected by approximately 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most homes.

Around 30% of homes in this area were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This part of the city has a good choice of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. The split between renters and homeowners is about even.

It is a short distance to get to schools and daycares from any location in Historic Downtown. In terms of eating, a supermarket is ordinarily reachable within a reasonably short stroll from most houses for sale in this area. Likewise, a restaurant is usually just around the corner, and a limited number of coffee shops can be found as well. It is also a rather short stroll to a good choice of clothing stores.
