Igloolik offers a relaxed atmosphere. Igloolik is good for those who prefer quiet surroundings, as the streets are reasonably tranquil - although that is not the case closer to the airport (Igloolik Airport).

Transportation

Igloolik is a very good hamlet for travelling by car. It is very easy to access a place to park. It is challenging to commute by bike in Igloolik. Most homes for sale in this hamlet are located in places that are also not very suitable for those who travel by walking as almost no common errands can be run without the use of a car.

Housing

In Igloolik, the majority of dwellings are single detached homes, while townhouses are the main alternative in the housing stock. This hamlet offers mainly three bedroom and two bedroom homes. Roughly 90% of the units in the hamlet are occupied by renters while the rest are occupied by owners. The homes in this part of Qikiqtaaluk Region are quite new, since around 30% of its buildings were constructed following the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s.

Services

Both primary and secondary schools are especially convenient to reach without the use of a car from anywhere in Igloolik. However, there are only a very small number of daycares and accordingly they can be a very long walk away. When it comes to food, house buyers in Igloolik almost always have to turn to a car to shop for their groceries.
