    Transportation

    Cars are an excellent means of transportation in Islandview. It is very easy to park. It is very difficult for pedestrians to move around in this community as almost no day-to-day errands can be run without a vehicle. Islandview is also not very cycling-friendly since there are very few bike lanes, and there is a considerable amount of slopes.

    Housing

    Around 30% of homes in Islandview were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s. The sizeable percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of this area is an important part of its character. Homeowners occupy about 90% of the dwellings in the community and 10% are rented. This community is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes.

    This community does not have any high schools or primary schools. Additionally, families may find it very difficult to get to daycares as pedestrians. When it comes to eating, in all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is required to do groceries.
