La Baie is a very good borough to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm atmosphere. Most areas in La Baie are very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour.

    Transportation

However, the public transit service in La Baie is not very convenient. Nevertheless, the borough is linked by about 10 bus lines, and the closest bus stop is generally very close by. Biking is occasionally challenging in La Baie because cyclists encounter quite a few hills, and this part of Saguenay is home to sometimes poor cycling infrastructure. This area is also not very convenient for those who get around by walking because most daily needs are impractical to carry out without needing to resort to a car.

About one third of properties in this borough were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
