Lakeshore is a great neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm atmosphere. The noise levels in this part of St. Catharines are especially low, as the streets are very peaceful. Lastly, there are a few parks close by for residents to visit, making it easy to reach them.
This area is very car friendly. Parking is generally easy. On the other hand, commuting by public transit is challenging in Lakeshore. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and it is easy to get to a nearby bus stop from most residences. Most homes for sale in this area are located in places that are not very conducive to those who travel by foot because very few daily errands can be run without the use of a vehicle.
In Lakeshore, the vast majority of buildings are single detached homes, while townhouses make up most of the remaining housing stock. This part of St. Catharines offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 90% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood whereas the remainder are rented. The nearest grocery store in this area is typically only a rather short walk away. A limited number of restaurants can be found in Lakeshore as well. When it comes to education, parents and their children will welcome the proximity to primary schools, which are within walking distance from vast majority houses for sale in this part of the city. However, this part of St. Catharines does not have any high schools. At the elementary level, there are both public and private schools.
