Laurel offers a relaxed atmosphere and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time in green spaces. Most areas in this part of Edmonton are very quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic. Finally, there are a few public green spaces close by for residents to discover and they are especially well-distributed, which makes it easy to access them from most locations within the neighbourhood.


Driving is a very good means of transportation in Laurel. It is very easy to come across a place to park. However, Laurel is not an especially convenient part of Edmonton for travelling by public transit. Nonetheless, house owners benefit from a few bus lines, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. It is difficult for pedestrians to navigate this area because many day-to-day needs are challenging to meet on foot. In contrast, cycling is convenient in Laurel as the bicycling infrastructure is very well-developed.


Roughly three quarters of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and renters occupy the remainder. In this neighbourhood, about half of dwellings are single detached homes, and the rest of the properties are mainly small apartment buildings and townhouses. Most of the housing growth in this part of the city has occurred after the year 2000. This area offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes.


Home buyers in Laurel commonly have to turn to a car to travel to the closest grocery store. There are also a few choices for those who value restaurants in close proximity. In terms of education, there are no high schools and no primary schools in this area. Likewise, there are only a few daycares and thus they can be a long walk away.
