People who prefer a relaxed environment will enjoy Le Nord-Ouest de l’Ile de Montréal. This neighbourhood features a fair amount of greenery as many tree-lined streets are present. It is easy to reach public green spaces from the majority of locations in the neighbourhood, since numerous residences have one close by and there are over 150 parks close by for residents to check out. This area is also very quiet, as the streets are usually very peaceful.


The favoured method to get around in Le Nord-Ouest de l’Ile de Montréal is usually driving. It is very convenient to find a place to park. In contrast, Le Nord-Ouest de l’Ile de Montréal is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, there is the Sunnybrooke Station and Roxboro–Pierrefonds Station with access to the Deux-Montagnes Line. Residents have access to approximately 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most properties. A majority of the homes for sale in this neighbourhood are located in places that are not very conducive to those who travel by foot because common amenities such as barbers or banks can be a rather long walk away. The bicycle is a somewhat poor mode of transportation in Le Nord-Ouest de l’Ile de Montréal because the cycling network is not especially extensive, and there is a considerable amount of slopes.


Around one third of properties in Le Nord-Ouest de l’Ile de Montréal were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing about 55% of dwellings in this area, and the rest are mainly small apartment buildings and townhouses. Homeowners occupy roughly 70% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood and 30% are rented. This neighbourhood offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.


A portion of home buyers in this part of the city may be able to access one of over 50 grocery stores on foot, while others will have to rely on a vehicle. A limited selection of restaurants and cafes is available as well. As far as education is concerned, parents and their children will appreciate that wherever their home is situated in this part of the city, daycares and primary schools are close by. In contrast, families may consider it challenging for their kids to get to high schools on foot. Besides public schools, there are private primary and high schools.
