Les Rivières real estate guide & listings for sale

Les Rivières is a fairly good borough to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed atmosphere. There are over 50 green spaces nearby for residents to enjoy, including Parc Prévert and Parc Chauveau, and they are very well-situated, making it easy to reach them. This borough is also fairly good for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as the streets tend to be quite tranquil - although that is not the case around one of the railway lines, Autoroute Laurentienne or Autoroute Henri-IV.

Driving is usually the favoured approach to get around in Les Rivières. It is a short car ride to the nearest highway, such as Autoroute Robert-Bourassa, from any home in this area, and finding a place to park is quite easy. In contrast, getting around by public transit is difficult in Les Rivières. Nevertheless, the borough is served by over 50 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most residences. It is sometimes challenging for pedestrians to move around in Les Rivières as many daily needs are occasionally difficult to carry out on foot. Although bicycling is more feasible in some pockets than others, Les Rivières is also not particularly bicycling-friendly because the cycling network is sometimes poor, and cyclists encounter a considerable amount of slopes.

Most dwellings are small apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in Les Rivières, while single detached homes and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. About 30% of properties in this part of Québec were built between 1960 and 1980, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This borough has a good choice of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. The split between renters and homeowners is about even.

The nearest grocery store in Les Rivières is generally only a reasonably short walk away. A small number of restaurants and cafes are available as well. Additionally, home buyers benefit from a fair number of nearby clothing stores. When it comes to education, it is a rather short walk to get to primary schools from any location in Les Rivières. On the other hand, it can be challenging to access high schools on foot. Along with public schools, there are private elementary and high schools.
