Lévis is quiet overall, as there are low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case near Autoroute Robert-Cliche, Autoroute Jean-Lesage or one of the railway lines. Access to green spaces, including Parc régional de la Pointe-De la Martinière and La Grande Plée-Bleue, is sometimes hard within the city since they are sparse. Still, there are over 150 parks nearby for residents to enjoy.

Transportation

The preferred method to get around in this part of the Quebec City metropolitan area is very often driving. Parking is easy, and it is a reasonably short car ride to the closest highway, such as Autoroute Jean-Lesage, from any home in Lévis. On the other hand, Lévis is not an especially pleasant part of the Quebec City metropolitan area for getting around by public transit. Nonetheless, property owners benefit from over 50 bus lines, and it is convenient to reach a nearby bus stop from most residences. Lévis is not very conducive to those who travel by foot because running daily errands is inconvenient.

Housing

In Lévis, many dwellings are single detached homes, but small apartment buildings and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. Roughly 30% of homes in this city were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This part of the Quebec City metropolitan area has a good choice of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About two thirds of the population of this city own their home while the rest are renters.

Some, but not all, home buyers in Lévis will reside within walking distance of one of over 50 grocery stores. Residents of Lévis are served by over 200 restaurants as well. Concerning education, high schools and primary schools are not especially plentiful in Lévis, and thus may require a long walk to get to. Additionally, it can be difficult to reach daycares on foot. Parents have the choice between public and private schools at both the elementary and secondary school level.
