No matter what type of character home buyers prefer in a neighbourhood, Main Street is a reasonably good option. Main Street is very quiet, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic. However, parks are very well-situated and there are around 20 of them nearby for residents to explore, which makes it very easy to access them. Lastly, although the ambience is not the most lively in this part of Fredericton with the bars in nearby neighbourhoods, it is very easy to find a place to grab a drink because they are generally located very close by.

Transportation

It is convenient to travel by bicycle in Main Street. This neighbourhood is also a fairly convenient part of Fredericton for pedestrians; many common errands can be run without a vehicle. The car is often the favoured transportation option in this area. Finding a place to park is generally easy. In contrast, Main Street is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and it is very easy to reach a nearby bus stop from most houses.

Housing

Over half of the housing stock of Main Street consists of single detached homes and small apartment buildings, whereas the rest are mainly duplexes. This part of Fredericton has a good choice of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. The proportions of homeowners and renters are about even. About one third of homes in this area were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 2000s.

Services

It is straightforward to access the closest grocery store without the need to get in a vehicle from most properties for sale in this neighbourhood. Moreover, Main Street is a good place in which to eat out, and a limited number of cafes is available as well. It is also easy to reach a variety of clothing stores as a pedestrian. With respect to education, in Main Street, parents and their kids will almost always be able to reach primary schools and daycares on foot. In contrast, high schools are not especially numerous and accordingly may require an extended stroll to get to.
