Transportation

This part of Edmonton affords homeowners the choice between various means of transportation. Malmo Plains is reasonably transit friendly as a consequence of Southgate Station with access to the Capital Line and Metro Line, and a few nearby bus lines. Walking is not especially feasible for residents in Malmo Plains as carrying out day-to-day needs is occasionally difficult. It is easy to move around by bike in this neighbourhood as riding a bicycle is made easier by the generally flat terrain, and the cycling network is great. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing about half of buildings in Malmo Plains, and the remaining properties are mainly large apartment buildings and townhouses. This part of the city experienced its most significant construction boom between 1960 and 1980, so most of the available properties are from this time period. This neighbourhood offers mainly four or more bedroom and two bedroom homes. The population residing in this part of the city is evenly split between owners and renters.

The nearest supermarket in Malmo Plains is generally only a rather short walk away. Furthermore, a decent selection of clothing stores is available within a reasonably short walking distance. With respect to education, schools and daycares are easy to access on foot from any location in this part of the city.
