Midtown is fairly good for those who enjoy quiet areas, as the streets are generally reasonably peaceful - however noise can be bothersome close to Highway 401. Green spaces aren't well-distributed, making it very hard to reach them.
Getting around by car is especially convenient in this neighbourhood. It is easy to park, and nearby highways, such as Highway 401, are very easy to reach from any location in Midtown. On the other hand, the public transit service in Midtown is somewhat poor. Thankfully, there are about 10 bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are commonly nearby. Getting around by bicycle is difficult in this area as the cycling infrastructure is not very well-developed, and cyclists encounter a significant amount of hills. A majority of the houses for sale in this neighbourhood are located in places that are also not especially suitable for walking because running daily errands is at times challenging.
Single detached homes and row houses are the predominant housing type in Midtown. Roughly half of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed in the 1980s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1960s. This part of Ajax is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. About 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 10% are renters.
Parents and their kids will value that wherever their property is located in Midtown, daycares and schools are nearby. In addition to public schools, there are private secondary schools. With regards to food, the nearest supermarket in Midtown is typically only a reasonably short walk away. Additionally, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and a limited selection of cafes is available as well. Home buyers have access to a good number of nearby clothing stores.
