There is a great variety of green spaces in North Shore Mountains. There are around 20 green spaces close by for residents to visit, including Coquitlam Watershed and Norton Lake Recreation Site, which makes it easy to get to them. Noise can sometimes be an issue in this community, as traffic during rush hour can occasionally be loud.

Transportation

Driving is a great mode of transportation in North Shore Mountains. Many properties for sale are a very short car ride from the closest highway, and it is especially convenient to park. In contrast, public transit riders may experience very few choices in North Shore Mountains as a result of the infrequent service. Nevertheless, the community is linked by a few bus lines, and bus stops are generally around the corner. North Shore Mountains is not very suitable for those who prefer to travel as pedestrians since almost no common errands can be run without a car. It is also very hard to get around by bike in North Shore Mountains because the cycling network is not very comprehensive, and bike riders are faced with a considerable amount of elevation changes.

Housing

Roughly one third of homes in North Shore Mountains were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 2000s. The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of this community is an important part of its character. About two thirds of the properties in the community are occupied by homeowners and the rest are rented. This part of Greater Vancouver offers mainly four or more bedroom and one bedroom homes.

Services

House buyers in this part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area almost always have to rely on a vehicle to purchase groceries. In terms of education, there are no high schools and no primary schools in North Shore Mountains. Moreover, daycares are not abundant and accordingly not always within walking distance.
