Driving is an excellent transportation option in North River. Finding a place to park is generally easy. Biking is challenging in this part of Colchester Subdivision B as the bicycling network is quite bad, and the topography is not especially flat. Walking is also not very practical for house buyers in North River since almost no common errands can be run without a vehicle.

Housing

Nearly 95% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and the remainder are rented. In this part of Colchester Subdivision B, about 85% of dwellings are single detached homes, while the rest are mainly mobile homes. About 30% of properties in this neighbourhood were built between 1960 and 1980, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This area also has quite a good selection of housing size options; there is a higher proportion of three bedroom homes in this neighbourhood.

In vast majority cases, a car is required to purchase groceries. With respect to education, North River does not contain any high schools or primary schools. Furthermore, parents may find it very difficult for their kids to get to daycares by walking.
