Northesk is a very good parish to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm atmosphere. Most areas in Northesk are very quiet, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent transportation option in Northesk. Parking is generally easy. This parish is not very well-suited for pedestrians since almost no common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle. This part of the Greater Miramichi metropolitan area is also not very conducive to bicycling since Northesk is home to quite poor cycling infrastructure, and there are a fair number of elevation changes for cyclists to brave.

Housing

In Northesk, almost all dwellings are single detached homes, while the rest are mainly mobile homes. This parish also has quite a good choice of housing size options; there is a higher proportion of three bedroom homes in this part of Northumberland County. Nearly 90% of the dwellings in the parish are occupied by homeowners and 10% are rented. About 40% of homes in this part of Northumberland County were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s.

Services

High schools are not plentiful in Northesk, and accordingly not always within walking distance, and there are no primary schools. Moreover, daycares are not numerous and thus tend to require a very long walk to get to. As far as eating is concerned, property owners in Northesk almost always have to rely on a vehicle to travel to the nearest grocery store.
