One of the highlights of Northlands is its wide selection of green spaces. It is very easy to reach parks in the neighbourhood since there are about 10 of them nearby for residents to visit. Finally, this neighbourhood remains relatively serene, due to the presence of very few pedestrians.

Transportation

Driving is very often the favoured approach to navigate Northlands. Accessing a parking spot is generally easy. On the other hand, Northlands is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far away from most homes. Travelling by bicycle is very convenient in this part of the municipality as there are a good number of bike lanes. It is inconvenient for people walking to navigate this neighbourhood because very few daily errands can be run without a car.

Housing

In Northlands, around one quarter of dwellings are small apartment buildings, while single detached homes and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. This neighbourhood offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy nearly 90% of the properties in Northlands and the remainder are rented. A majority of the housing growth in this part of the municipality took place between 1990 and 2000.

Services

In Northlands, parents and their children will usually be able to get to schools and daycares by walking. When it comes to food, the closest supermarket in this part of District of North Vancouver is generally only a reasonably short distance away. A limited number of restaurants and cafes can be found as well.
