Notre-Dame-des-Laurentides is fairly good for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as there are low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case closer to Autoroute Laurentienne. Public green spaces aren't well-located, which makes them rather challenging to access. This neighbourhood is an extremely convenient part of Québec for driving. However, travelling by transit can be challenging in Notre-Dame-des-Laurentides as a result of the service's low frequency. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is connected by around 10 bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. Notre-Dame-des-Laurentides is not very bicycling-friendly because riding is made difficult by the typically hilly terrain, and there are very few bike lanes. Many of the homes for sale in this area are located in places that are also not very well-suited for those who travel by foot since very few common errands can be run on foot.

With respect to education, there are only a few high schools and primary schools in Notre-Dame-des-Laurentides and accordingly they can be a long walk away. Furthermore, it can be difficult to access daycares as a pedestrian.
