There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Orleans Central. Most locations in the neighbourhood have fairly good access to green spaces, like Pierre Rocque Park, since there are a few of them nearby for residents to explore. As there are very few people out and about on the streets, this part of the city remains relatively quiet.

Transportation

The preferred approach to get around in this part of Ottawa is very often driving. Most properties for sale are a short car ride from the closest highway, and it is especially convenient to access a place to park. On the other hand, travelling by public transit is sometimes challenging in Orleans Central. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is served by about 20 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most properties. Travelling on foot is not especially feasible for house buyers in this neighbourhood as carrying out daily needs is sometimes difficult. However, it is convenient to travel by bike in this part of the city because the cycling network is reasonably extensive.

Housing

In Orleans Central, about one third of buildings are single detached homes, and the remaining properties are mainly large apartment buildings, small apartment buildings, and townhouses. This neighbourhood experienced its most significant building boom in the 1960s and 1970s, so most of the available properties are from this era. This area is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy around 70% of the units in the neighbourhood whereas the remainder are rented.

Services

It is usually possible for house buyers in this part of the city to do their groceries by walking. Furthermore, those who like to dine in restaurants will have a good number of options, and residents are served by a few cafes as well. House buyers have access to a fair number of clothing stores within walking distance. With regards to education, families will find that wherever their house is located in Orleans Central, schools and daycares are close by. At the elementary level, both public and private schools can be found.
