This neighbourhood is an extremely good part of Thunder Bay for travelling by car. It is especially convenient to access a parking spot, and it is a rather short drive to the nearest highway from any home in this area. In contrast, Parkdale is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, house owners are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are ordinarily relatively close by. Many of the houses for sale in this part of Thunder Bay are located in places that are not very well-suited for walking as meeting daily needs is difficult.
Single detached homes and townhouses are the main housing type in Parkdale. Most housing in this part of Thunder Bay was built following the year 2000, during its most significant building boom. This area offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Roughly 95% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 5% are renters.
Accessing the closest supermarket on foot is possible for some, but not all, home buyers in this part of the city. There are a few opportunities for those who value nearby restaurants. With respect to education, there are no high schools and no primary schools in Parkdale. Likewise, it can be very hard to access daycares on foot.
