Parkway is a wonderful neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm environment. Green spaces, including Parkgate Park and Indian River Park, are very well-spread out and there are around 10 of them nearby for residents to visit, which results in them being very easy to get to from most locations within this area. This neighbourhood is very quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour.
Transportation
Driving is a fairly good means of transportation in this neighbourhood. It is convenient to park. On the other hand, Parkway is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and it is very easy to get to a nearby bus stop from most residences. Traveling by foot is not especially convenient for home buyers in Parkway as running common errands is impractical without a vehicle. In contrast, the bicycle is a reasonably good method of transportation in Parkway as there are a fair number of bike lanes.
Housing
Roughly 80% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 20% are renters. In this part of District of North Vancouver, around one third of buildings are single detached homes, and the rest are mainly large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings. This neighbourhood experienced its most significant construction boom in the 1980s, so most of the available housing is from this time period. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and two bedroom homes.
Services
Parents and their schoolchildren will welcome the proximity to primary schools and daycares, which are within a short distance from vast majority properties for sale in this part of District of North Vancouver. However, Parkway does not contain any high schools. Regarding food, it is very often practical for property owners in this part of District of North Vancouver to do groceries by walking. There are also a limited number of opportunities for those who care about restaurants and cafes in close proximity.
