Point Edward Real Estate & Houses for Sale

Point Edward is a fairly good community to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced ambience. There are a few public green spaces close by for residents to unwind in, such as Munro Park, which makes them very easy to reach. The noise levels in this community are also low, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - although that is not the case around the railway line.

    Transportation

Point Edward is an extremely convenient part of Cape Breton Municipality for moving around by car. Parking is quite easy, and nearby highways are very easy to reach from anywhere in Point Edward. This part of the municipality is not very convenient for pedestrians because very few common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle. Point Edward is also not very amenable to bicycling as the terrain is not very flat, and this community has quite poor cycling infrastructure.

    Housing

About 90% of the properties in the community are occupied by homeowners and renters occupy the remainder. Single detached homes and townhouses are the predominant housing type in this part of Cape Breton Municipality. The homes in this community are quite old, since around 45% of its dwellings were built pre-1960, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. This part of the municipality is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes.

    Services

In all but a very small number of cases, a car is needed to purchase groceries. As far as education is concerned, there are no high schools and no primary schools in Point Edward. Furthermore, it can be very hard to reach daycares on foot.
