Pointe Picard is a reasonably good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed atmosphere. Greenery is reasonably present in this part of Dorval as there are numerous tree-lined streets. There are a few green spaces close by for residents to visit and they are very well-spread out, making them easy to reach. This part of the city is also fairly good for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case near Autoroute du Souvenir or the railway line.

Transportation

Cars are a great mode of transportation in Pointe Picard. It is convenient to find a parking spot, and nearby highways, such as Autoroute de la Côte-de-Liesse, are very easy to drive to from any home in this part of Dorval. However, travelling by transit can be at times difficult in this area due to the low service level. Nevertheless, The neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most houses. It is at times difficult for people travelling on foot to navigate Pointe Picard since common errands are sometimes challenging to run without the use of a vehicle. On the other hand, this part of Dorval is suited for cycling as there are few elevation changes to confront bike riders.

Housing

About half of buildings are small apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in Pointe Picard, and the rest of the properties are mainly large apartment buildings and single detached homes. Around 40% of properties in this neighbourhood were built pre-1960, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 2000s. This part of Dorval offers mainly one bedroom and two bedroom homes. The population residing in this neighbourhood is evenly split between owners and renters.

Daycares and schools are very easy to get to on foot from most homes for sale in this part of Dorval. With respect to eating, the closest grocery store in Pointe Picard is usually only a reasonably short walk away. A limited selection of restaurants and cafes can be found as well.
