Transportation

Prospect is an extraordinarily good part of Halifax for getting around by car. It is very easy to access a place to park. Getting around by bicycle is very difficult in Prospect because there are a good number of hills, and the bicycling infrastructure is not very well-developed. A majority of the homes for sale in this part of the municipality are located in places that are also not very conducive to pedestrians since almost no common errands can be run without a vehicle.

Housing

The predominant housing types in Prospect are single detached homes and townhouses. Around 30% of properties in this part of Halifax were built between 1980 and 1990, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s. This part of the municipality is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 90% of the properties in the community while the rest are rented.

Prospect does not contain any high schools or primary schools. Furthermore, there are only a very small number of daycares and accordingly they can be a very long walk away. In terms of food, it is very rarely possible for property owners in this community to travel to the nearest supermarket by foot.
