    Renfrew has a character that appeals to a fairly diverse group of people. Renfrew is quiet, as the streets are generally quite peaceful, although that is not the case near one of the railway lines or Trans-Canada Highway. However, public green spaces, including Rupert Park and John Hendry Park, are very well-distributed and there are over 50 of them nearby for residents to unwind in, which results in them being very easy to get to from the majority of locations in this area. Lastly, even though the atmosphere is not the most lively in this neighbourhood, its main streets are still quite dynamic, and with the bars in nearby neighbourhoods, it is rather challenging to find a place to grab a drink as they are generally located relatively far away.

    Transportation

    No matter the mode of transportation, it is rather convenient to move around in this part of Vancouver. Travelling by public transit is straightforward in Renfrew as a result of a multitude of nearby rapid transit stations on the Expo Line and Millennium Line, and about 10 nearby bus lines. Many of the homes for sale in this part of Vancouver are located in places that are also rather convenient for people who prefer to get around on foot; many daily errands can be run without needing a vehicle, and a variety of businesses are moderately close by. Renfrew is a fairly convenient part of Vancouver for bike riders. For instance, Renfrew has reasonably good bicycling infrastructure.

    Housing

    About half of dwellings are duplexes, making it easy to find duplexes in Renfrew, but small apartment buildings and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. Roughly one quarter of homes in this area were built after the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s. This part of the city offers mainly two bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 55% of the units in Renfrew whereas the remainder are rented.
