River Valley Whitemud is a reasonably good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced atmosphere. This part of Edmonton is quiet overall, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic. Finally, public green spaces, including Whitemud Park and Whitemud Equestrian Park, are very well-situated and there are a few of them close by for residents to check out, which makes it very easy to get to them.

Transportation

River Valley Whitemud affords homeowners several alternative methods of transportation. Driving is an excellent means of transportation in this part of the city. It is a rather short drive to the nearest highway from any home in River Valley Whitemud, and it is very easy to find a place to park. The good public transit access makes transit a viable option for many people as a consequence of a few nearby bus lines. Many of the homes for sale in this area are located in places that are not very suitable for those who travel by foot because very few daily errands can be run without the use of a car. In contrast, River Valley Whitemud is amenable to bicycling because the cycling network is very good.

Housing

The split between renters and homeowners is about even. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing the majority of dwellings in this neighbourhood, while the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings and townhouses. Most housing in this part of the city was built in the 1960s and 1970s, during its largest construction boom. This area offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.

Services

It is a rather short walk to access primary schools from anywhere in River Valley Whitemud. On the other hand, this part of Edmonton does not have any high schools. Concerning food, in all but a few cases, a vehicle is required in this area to access the nearest supermarket.
