Saint-Émile is a wonderful neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. Parks are easy to reach since there are approximately 10 of them close by for residents to unwind in. Most areas in this part of the city are especially quiet, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic.
Driving is a great means of transportation in this neighbourhood. It is very convenient to find a parking spot, and nearby highways are reasonably easy to access from anywhere in this part of Québec. However, the public transit network in Saint-Émile is rather limited. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are ordinarily nearby. Travelling on foot is not very practical for home buyers in Saint-Émile as running daily errands is impractical. Although the cycling infrastructure is well-developed, the bike is a fairly poor method of transportation in Saint-Émile since there are quite a few elevation changes.
In Saint-Émile, roughly 55% of dwellings are single detached homes, while townhouses are also present in the housing stock. Around one third of properties in this neighbourhood were built after the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. This part of Québec offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 80% of the units in the neighbourhood and 20% are rented.
Families will find that wherever their home is located in this area, primary schools and daycares are close by. On the other hand, this part of Québec does not contain any high schools. With respect to eating, home buyers in Saint-Émile will welcome that a grocery store is always only a rather short walk away. A limited selection of restaurants can be found in Saint-Émile as well.
