Saint-Nicolas is an excellent neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm ambience. There are over 50 green spaces nearby for residents to discover, like Parc des Grandes Pointes and Parc Des Chutes de la Chaudière, which makes them easy to reach. This part of Lévis is also very quiet, as the streets are usually very tranquil around Autoroute Jean-Lesage, Autoroute Robert-Cliche or the railway line.

Transportation

The preferred approach to get around in this part of Lévis is very often driving. It is especially convenient to access a parking spot, and nearby highways, such as Autoroute Robert-Cliche, are very easy to drive to from any home in this neighbourhood. However, Saint-Nicolas is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, there are around 40 bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. Although certain bike-friendly sectors exist, it is at times difficult to get around by bike in Saint-Nicolas since the cycling network is not very extensive, and bicycle riders are faced with a considerable amount of elevation changes. Walking is also not very feasible for property owners in this part of Lévis because very few common errands can be run without the need to use a car.

Housing

In Saint-Nicolas, most dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings make up most of the remaining housing stock. This part of Lévis offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly three quarters of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the rest are rented. The homes in this neighbourhood are relatively new, since about 40% of its buildings were constructed after the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s.

Services

It is a rather short distance to get to primary schools from any location in this part of the city. In contrast, it can be challenging to reach high schools without a vehicle. As far as eating is concerned, in all but a very small number of cases, a car is required to do groceries.
