Transportation

Driving is usually the best transportation option in this city. Many homes for sale are a rather short car ride from the closest highway, such as Highway 402, and accessing a place to park is easy. On the other hand, the public transit service in Sarnia is not very frequent. Nevertheless, there are around 10 bus lines crossing the city, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most residences. Walking is not very popular in this city, although running daily errands is convenient without the use of a car. On the other hand, biking is easy in this city as bicycling is facilitated by the generally flat terrain.

Housing

Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing about two thirds of dwellings in Sarnia, while large apartment buildings make up most of the remaining housing stock. This part of Lambton County has a good selection of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Homeowners occupy about 70% of the units in Sarnia whereas renters occupy the remainder. A grocery store is usually reachable within a reasonably short walk from anywhere in Sarnia. Furthermore, a restaurant is often just around the corner, and a limited variety of coffee shops can be found as well. With respect to education, daycares and primary schools are convenient to access without the use of a car from anywhere in Sarnia. However, it can be difficult to get to high schools as a pedestrian.
