Sector J is a neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a laid-back atmosphere. Sector J is relatively serene, as there are very few people out and about on the streets. Greenery is not prominent in this neighbourhood - there are approximately 20 parks close by for residents to visit.

Transportation

This neighbourhood is especially car friendly. It is very easy to park, and the majority of real estate listings are a very short drive from the nearest highway, such as Autoroute de l'Acier. However, travelling by public transit is challenging in sector J. Nevertheless, homeowners have access to about 10 bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. Even though there are a limited number of slopes for cyclists to brave, and riding a bike is more feasible in certain pockets than others, getting around by bicycle is difficult in sector J since the cycling network is not very comprehensive. Sector J is also not very suitable for people who prefer to travel on foot as very few common errands can be run without needing a car.

Housing

Small apartment buildings are the most common housing type, representing the majority of dwellings in sector J, and the rest of the properties are mainly large apartment buildings and single detached homes. This neighbourhood also has quite a good choice of housing sizes; notably, this neighbourhood is good for those looking for two bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about two thirds of the units in sector J and the rest are rented. A majority of the housing growth in this neighbourhood has occurred after the year 2000.

Services

A vehicle is often needed in sector J to reach the closest supermarket. On the other hand, this neighbourhood is a good place in which to go out to eat. In terms of education, in this part of the city, families will generally be able to access daycares without needing a car. On the other hand, sector J does not contain any primary schools or high schools.
